Query Results Page Toolbar

As of July 12, 2021, this "Learn Veracross" site has been deprecated.  It will remain live through December 2022, but will no longer be updated. All knowledge content has moved to the new Veracross Community.  Please update your bookmarks.

Here is the new version of this article in the Veracross Community.

Overview

The Query Results Page Toolbar — located directly above the results grid on the query results page — has two features: an Add Record... button and a search box.

Add Record... Button

If the "Add Record..." link appears in the Organize menu, it also appears as a green button similar to how it is seen on various detail screens.

Click on the Add Record... button to open a blank detail record relevant to the query you opened the record from. For example: clicking the button from a Find Classes query opens a blank Class record.

The Add Record... button is only displayed on certain query types that have been intentionally chosen by Veracross.

Search Box

The search box on the top-right of the query results screen filters the query results live by looking at values populated across all visible fields pulled into the query. The filtering done by the search box carries over to other features that operate on the results, such as:

  • Batch Update/Delete
  • Results Record Navigation (aka Next/Previous Record)
  • Totals/Subtotals
    • filtered results that apply to totals and subtotals are indicated by an icon

Note: The Search Box filter only applies to results data on the current page of query results; it does not pull in results from other pages of paginated query results. The input placeholder text changes to say "search results on page" as a reminder about this on paginated queries.

Keyboard Shortcuts

The search bar is also directly accessible from the keyboard alone:
