Asset Types

What is an Asset Type?

An Asset Type is more refined category used to group a school’s assets.  Each Asset Type can be linked to an Asset Category, and can be flagged as “depreciable” or not. When a user assigns an Asset Type to a Fixed Asset, the Asset Category and all fields linked to it  will automatically populate onto the Fixed Asset Record.

Assigning Asset Categories to an Asset Type are all 1-1, meaning you can't have multiple Asset Categories linked to a single Asset Type. New Asset Types can be added to break out an Asset Type that requires multiple categories if needed. (Ex: "Vehicles -5yrs" and "Vehicles -7yrs").

Navigating to the Asset Type List

  1. From the Launchpad, navigate to the Property Control Homepage
  2. Under the "General" column, click on the Asset Type List
