Here is the new version of this article in the Veracross Community.

Overview

Veracross offers a number of integrations with third party applications; among them is Google Drive. Integrate with class websites via embed codes, and Google docs can be linked from assignments.

Using Google Drive With Class Websites

To share information from a Google source (docs, the contents of a folder, presentations, etc.), via a Class Website Post or Page, the teacher can either

  1. share the simple link, or
  2. embed the information using a Google-provided embed code.

Tip: Whichever method you choose, be sure to check sharing permissions on the Google doc.

Share the Simple Link

A link to a Google document or folder can be shared in the same manner as any link to an external source by using a text, button, or file widget. Simply paste the URL of the Google document or drive folder.

Embed the Source

Teachers can display a variety of Google Drive data (folders, docs, presentations, etc.) in the Teacher Portal via embed codes. First, the teacher needs to obtain the code from the desired Google source. Click here to read Google’s documentation on obtaining embed codes. Also, read about other embedding possibilities.

Use the Embed widget to embed the desired code. Any Google document, presentation, sheet, or even entire folder (in list or grid view) can be displayed in this manner.

Use Google Drive With Assignments

From an assignment, teachers can link to Google files, just as they are able to link to any external URL.
