What is a GL Function Category?
A function category is a "tag" that can be used to group a set of function codes together. In order to be used, function categories must be linked to a function code, and will automatically populate on a GL Master Record when a function code is added to it. The function category cannot be manually updated on a GL Master Record.
Navigating to the GL Function Category List
- From the Launchpad, navigate to the System Homepage
- Under the "View Configuration" column, click on GL Function Category
Adding a New GL Function Category
- From the Launchpad, navigate to the System Homepage
- Under the "Change Configuration" column, click on "Add a GL Function Category"
- Fill in the following fields:
- Description
- Once complete, click Update
Adding a GL Function Category to a GL Function Code
- From the Launchpad, navigate to the System Homepage
- Under the "View Configuration" column, click on GL Function Code
- From the query results, the GL Function Category can be updated. A GL Function Category can also be updated within a function code record by clicking on the ID link.
