Step-by-Step
- From the Cash Processing homepage, open the Cash Receipt Header Listing query and specify criteria designed to retrieve the Cash Receipt you wish to cancel.
- Execute the query; identify the desired Cash Receipt Header, and click on “CR Header” label to open that receipt’s detail display.
- Click on the General Ledger / Adjust tab presented on that display
- Toggle Cancel (Hdr) to Yes and enter a Cancel Date.
- If desired, enter notes in the “Memo” field to explain why the receipt is being canceled.
- Click Update to save the changes.
- The results should show one new cash receipt item (with a negative amount) for each of the receipt’s original items. The cash receipts header’s amounts should all be zero.
- Navigate to the General tab and add a new Cash Receipt Batch for the canceling dollar amount (a negative amount).
- Assign the open “Cash Rec. Batch” number on the Cash Receipt Header.
- Click Update to save the changes.
- Post the cash receipt batch.
