The Blackboard Connect export for Staff and Faculty information is detailed below. The Staff and Faculty files are each individual files that are imported to Blackboard Connect. However, because each file contains the same fields and values, this documentation article can be used for both Staff and Faculty.
The Staff file will contain one row for each person that has one of the following roles: “Staff”, “Staff – Ancillary” or “Staff – Other”. The Faculty file will contain one row for each person that has one of the following roles: “Faculty” or “Coach”.
If you would like to target only those employees who are either staff or faculty (and not “coach”, “staff – ancillary”, “staff – other”), please use the group “Staff/Faculty” when sending your notification.
The exact filenames are “faculty.csv” and “staff.csv”.
The bold fields are the names of the fields included in the export. The description will describe where the value of the data comes from in the database:
| Field Name | Description |
| Institution | This will be the school name and is hardcoded for the export (eg. “Veracross Academy”). Each school will need to communicate to Blackboard Connect what the Institution value will be. |
| ContactType | The value of “Faculty” (or “Staff” for the Staff file) will be hardcoded for each of the faculty and staff exports. Each person in Veracross with a role of “Staff”, “Staff – Ancillary”, “Staff – Other”, “Faculty” or “Coach” will be included in this list. |
| ReferenceCode | This value comes from the “Person ID” field of the *FACULTY/STAFF* in Veracross |
| FirstName | This value comes from the “First Name” field of the *FACULTY/STAFF* in Veracross |
| LastName | This value comes from the “Last Name” field of the *FACULTY/STAFF* in Veracross |
| Gender | This value comes from the “Gender” field of the *FACULTY/STAFF* in Veracross |
| HomePhone | This value comes from the “Home Phone” field of the *HOUSEHOLD* that is associated with the faculty/staff in Veracross |
| WorkPhone | This value comes from the “Work Phone” field of the *FACULTY/STAFF* in Veracross |
| WorkPhone_ext | This value comes from a part of the “Work Phone” field of the *FACULTY/STAFF* in Veracross. Note, this value will populate if the extension is populated in the work phone field. For example, the extension of “1234” will be included in this value if a faculty member’s business phone is correctly formatted as “111-222-3333 x1234” |
| Mobilephone | This value comes from the “Mobile Phone” field of the *FACULTY/STAFF* in Veracross |
| SMSPhone | This value comes from the “Mobile Phone” field of the *FACULTY/STAFF* in Veracross |
| EmailAddress | This value comes from the “Email 1” field of the *FACULTY/STAFF* in Veracross |
| EmailAddressAlt | This value comes from the “Email 2” field of the *FACULTY/STAFF* in Veracross |
| HomeAddress | This value comes from the “Address 1” field of the *HOUSEHOLD* that the staff/faculty member is associated with in Veracross |
| HomeCity | This value comes from the “City” field of the *HOUSEHOLD* that the staff/faculty member is associated with in Veracross |
| HomeState | This value comes from the “State/Province” field of the *HOUSEHOLD* that the staff/faculty member is associated with in Veracross |
| HomeZip | This value comes from the “Zip Code” field of the *HOUSEHOLD* that the staff/faculty member is associated with in Veracross |
| Group 1 | This value will be hard-coded to display “Staff/Faculty” for those people who have either the “Staff” or “Faculty” role. The purpose of this field is to allow you to target *just* those people are are staff or faculty, without including those people with a role of “Coach”, “staff – other” or “Staff – Ancillary”. |
