Overview

General Campaigns — used for raising money for a specific purpose outside of an operating budget — are often associated with an overarching Comprehensive Campaign. There are a few different circumstances that affect how a general campaign could be associated with a comprehensive campaign, and this article provides workflows for all of them. Creating Campaigns to Associate with a Comprehensive Campaign

There are two different ways to create a brand new general campaign and quickly associate it with a comprehensive campaign:

From the Comprehensive Campaign Homepage

  1. Navigate to the Comprehensive Campaign homepage and click on the +Add General Campaign link in the Fundraising Activities section.
  2. Fill in the appropriate necessary information in the blank general campaign detail screen (all required fields are bolded).
  3. Click the Add General Campaign button.

From the Comprehensive Campaign Detail Screen

  1. Once on the comprehensive campaign detail screen, click on the Campaigns option in the category listing on the left.
  2. Click on the Add New Campaign tab and then click on the Add Record... button.
  3. Fill in the Description, Start Date, End Date, and Status in the input grid on the lower portion of the screen and, when complete, click the Update button.

Associating Existing Campaigns with a Comprehensive Campaign

From the Comprehensive Campaign Detail Screen

  1. Once on the comprehensive campaign detail screen, click on the Campaigns option in the category listing on the left.
  2. Click on the Select Existing Campaign tab. This screen displays a query of all general campaigns that are currently not associated with the comprehensive campaign.
  3. Click the checkboxes in the Include in Comp Campaign column next to all the general campaigns you wish to associate with this comprehensive camapign.
  4. Click the Update button.

What Campaigns are Already Associated with the Comprehensive Campaign?

To see which general campaigns are already associated with this comprehensive campaign, there are a few different avenues you can take.

  • the  General Campaigns button in the Overview section of the Comprehensive Campaign homepage, which displays all general campaigns associated with the active comprehensive campaign
  • the General Campaigns query in the Fundraising Activities section of the Comprehensive Campaign homepage, which displays all general campaigns,  but is subtotaled by which Comprehensive Campaign they are associated with.
  • the General Campaigns tab in the Campaigns detail category on the Comprehensive Campaign detail screens shows all general campaigns associated with the comprehensive campaign.
